our approach
floral design is not a job, it’s a passion. Kate has been a wedding and event florist on and off for over 15 years, and loves the process of working with clients to create and execute a vision, working with the natural beauty of flowers.
throughout her career, she has designed arrangements for ballrooms, barns, mountaintops and museums. her experience has led her to hone her style as natural, organic and seasonal. she loves working with the natural style of the flowers she uses so her arrangements always have movement and a style that is effortless.
our story
growing up in Central Massachusetts, Kate started her floral career working for a family friend. between scrubbing buckets and processing blossoms, Kate was mentored and started exploring her design style.
fast forward 8 years, Kate has been working in the industry and has earned a reputation in Vermont for her elegant barn wedding style. her shop’s designs were featured on stylemepretty.com and once wed.com.
after hurricane Irene flooded her town, Kate moved to Annapolis, MD to start fresh and freelanced in wedding work while working full time to reestablish herself. after 3 years in the hotel sales industry, Kate’s passion for design won out and she decided to launch floret + vine.

Kate, a native New Englander is now a die hard Marylander. between designing flowers for events, she is a proud aunt of one beautiful niece and three handsome nephews, loves to run sprint triathlons and enjoys boating with her husband, Jeff. floret + vine has been a dream a long time coming, and she is thrilled to be a part of the floral community in MD.
